For years, I wanted nothing to do with the little girl who saw way too much way too soon. I didn’t have time to lament over daddy issues or mama trauma. I was focused on becoming the woman I wanted to be. The girl I once was, she was irrelevant.
But, one day I realized that its the SUM of my experiences that make me who I am today, and make me powerful. I learned to appreciate the hard lessons I learned as that little girl, but also to seek the healing she (and I) desperately needed.
Embracing the fullness of my journey has given me so much freedom. And it floors me every time someone else receives their healing by listening to me talk about mine.
